Attractions of Arena Polo
Arena Polo is played between teams of three players on an oval-shaped area measuring 55 by 115 metres. The final round of the tournament will be played in daylight. All other games will be staged at night under floating light balloons. The reason for holding matches at night is not only to create a particularly attractive atmosphere. The lower nighttime temperatures also result in a firmer playing surface – and with it greater safety for players and ponies. In addition, Arena Polo permits spectators to be closer to the playing action and to appreciate the impressive speed and skills of this exciting game.
Spectacle on snow, watching in the warm The Klosters event is organized by the Alpine Polo Club, under the main sponsorship of Berenberg Bank Switzerland. Their joint aim is make polo more accessible to a wider public. And the event is not without its culinary attractions – once again Barbecue World Champion Rolf Zubler of Switzerland will bring to Klosters the world's largest barbecue oven. During the day, spectators will also have the opportunity of meeting the players who will be happy to explain their passion for polo.
